Woohoo! It did it. :)
I completed my cookbook, _Vegan Done Light_.

You can read the story behind its creation here:

Congratulations, Erin! I've tackled this hurdle myself on at least 4 occasions (all which were basically created for family and friends who always wanted to know how to make my food!). It's certainly a labor of love, and the sense of accomplishment is over-the-top.

Although at this point you might not want to even THINK about creating another one (tee-hee), I'd like to recommend Mastercook. Do you use this software? It's how I keep track of ALL my recipes, which spits out nutritional information for each and every dish (although as an organic vegan I have to make many changes to the "master" nutritional data...). When you're ready, you simply copy and past the recipes you want to add to your cookbook, slip into a word document, add index pages etc., and make it into a pdf file which can be then transformed into an ebook. Whew! I'm getting tired already. haha

    Best wishes!

    Sassy

Thank you. You're so right; I feel released from the chains of my laptop. I think I'll enjoy the summer now. LOL. (That is, if it ever decides arrive in NH.) I have heard of Mastercook (thanks for the recommendation). However, I've already become comfortable with a couple other nutrition analysis programs.

Ack, wish tribe let you edit your posts. Or maybe it does? There should be a "to" in between "decides" and "arrive.". Hehe. Can you say "anal?" :)

congrats! this is cool. i'm very into the diy, self-publishing aspect. let's all do more of this!

also, you could sell some "copies" here as well: www.etsy.com/category_top.php

    etsy is awesome!

Thank you, Josie. I had not heard of etsy before, but checked it out on your suggestion. Seems they're not quite the best venue for digital goods, as you pay a listing fee per item "in stock."

yes it's true, you have to list a stock, but i've seen it done with knitting patterns. while etsy does charge you to list each 'item', it's still really cheap. so people will list it as having 10 or so copies 'in stock', which ends up being about $1.00 or so. it's good to keep the in stock amount relatively low, so every time you relist the item it appears as recently listed and at the top of each catogories listings.

here's a better example of what i was thinking you could do: www.etsy.com/view_listing.php (CUTE octopus, eh?)

anyways, i just suggested etsy because they're such awesome supporters of the diy movement. i love them.

i hope you find other ways to get the word out about your book!

Congratulations on your cookbook. You could try doing digital print-on-demand books through Lulu.com. Then the only trick will be directing people there to buy it.
